Telugu Association of North Texas(TANTEX) was formed in 1986 as a non-profit, non-religious organization to
Maintain, preserve and perpetuate the cultural heritage of Telugu speaking people of North Texas.
Assist and promote cultural, educational, social and community affairs of the Telugu speaking people in North Texas.
Foster understanding between the Telugu speaking people and others in the community.
TANTEX is governed by President and an Executive Committee elected from volunteer members for an annual term from January 1st to Dec 31st.

| TANTEX organizes several activities and programs all year-round for Telugu community. Most of the activities and programs are open to public and are not restricted to its members. Membership dues are collected once a year (see Membership ) and members pay a nominal amount per event either on an individual or family basis. However, there are some special events and programs that are conducted jointly with community members and other organizations (music concerts, felicitations to distinguished visitors, fund-raisings etc.) For such events, TANTEX members may have to pay a price agreed by TANTEX management and other organization(s).
